Country icon Toby Keith made history on Billboard charts after he became the first artist to claim nine spots in the top 10 of the Country Digital Song Sales chart.

According to Billboard, Keith broke the record of seven top 10s on the chart previously held by Kenny Rogers (April 4, 2020-dated, following his death) and Taylor Swift (November 13, 2010, helped by her album Speak Now).

Keith’s 2018 track “Don’t Let the Old Man In” returns at No. 1 on Country Digital Song Sales with 27,000 sold, up 3,744%, February 2-8, according to Luminate. The song first topped the chart last October, becoming his second No. 1.

Other songs on the top 10 inlcude “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” (No. 3), “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)” (No. 4), “How Do You Like Me Now?!” (No. 5), “As Good as I Once Was” (No. 6), “Beer for My Horses,” with Willie Nelson ( No. 7), “I Love This Bar” (No. 8), “American Soldier” (No. 9), and “Red Solo Cup” (No. 10).

The country music icon passed away on Monday, February 5, just 18 months after he revealed he had stomach cancer. He was 62.

“Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family,” a statement said. “He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time.”

Keith revealed in June 2022 that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
