Memorial Barn Opening

October 16 – 1-4PM, 169 S County Trail, Exeter, RI. Help celebrate the dedication of Sarah Balmforth’s Memorial Barn to support Friends of Exeter Animals. This barn will provide large animals a safe, temporary shelter, proceeds will benefit the medical care, food, fencing and other ongoing needs. Free parking. $5 donation at the door. Show Me Reptile & Exotics Show (West Warwick, RI)

October 16 & 17 – from 10AM-3:30PM. Learn about reptiles and share your passion wit= h us. Get your quality reptile feeders and supplies here and see a variety of different reptiles. The Show Me Reptile & Exotics Show is one of the largest reptile and exotic pet shows in the region. This is a safe and family friendly event geared to educate and introduce people to reptiles and exotics. This is the best place to purchase and learn with industry leading breeders bringing their knowledge, quality and passion to the show. This is also a great place to go if you already have pets. There are also feeders and supplies from quality sources. So bring the whole family out for a great day at the reptile show come learn and explore, maybe get a new pet. October 24 from 12-4PM. Grand Opening fundraiser and adoption event to benefit Rhode Home Rescue! Join us to celebrate the opening of our brand new facility in East Greenwich with adoptable dogs, food, vendors, live music, FREE training workshops, games, raffles and fun for a cause! 2020 was difficult for everyone, but non-profits in particular were unable to raise funds for their work with the events and fundraisers they count on. DISCOVERY CENTER VISIT Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:45-11:15am and 2:15-3:45pm at the National Marine Life Center (120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532). Enjoy a private visit to our Marine Animal Discovery Center and learn about Cape Cod marine life and the work we do at National Marine Life Center to rehabilitate seals and sea turtles. This registration grants you and up to 5 additional people access to our Discovery Center for up to 1 to 1/2 hours of fun and learning! Your visit includes up to 45 minutes of guided chats with activities, plus up to 45 minutes of free exploration time. Masks are required for everyone over 3 years of age, and must be worn for the entirety of your visit. See amazing specimens like whale vertebrae, baleen, seal pelts, turtle skulls, and the tools we use in our= Marine Animal Hospital. Hear an update about our current patients as you = watch them receive care and get better on our TV Screens, broadcasting live= from the Marine Animal Hospital. Finally, take part in a special activity of your choice! Choose from one or more of the following. Please write you= r choice in the “Appointment Notes” section! ~ Caring for Seal Pups: See a demonstration (using a stuffed animal) of how we tube-feed a seal patient! You’ll also have the chance to try it out yourself. ~ Sea Creature Craft: Make a marine-themed craft or two. We try to use reusable or recycled materials to keep it eco-friendly. ~ Saving Sea Turtles:  Participate in a mock sea turtle exam (using a plastic model sea turtle)!
