Help us give a HUGE Cat Country congratulations to Emma Ericson — a senior at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School and an absolute LAX powerhouse! Emma started high school with one big goal:
Become the all-time leading scorer in BP girls lacrosse.
Not only did she break the previous record of 141 goals… she’s now over 200 goals — and she did it before her junior year even ended! Emma doesn’t stop there — she plays club lacrosse AND has officially committed to Mass Maritime Academy, where she’ll continue dominating on the field.
“Proud” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Congratulations, Emma!

Mackenzie is a multi-sport powerhouse at Westport High School, dominating softball, field hockey, and volleyball with pure heart and unmatched hustle. She’s been competing since she was 6 years old, and her dedication shows every time she hits the field or steps onto the court.
This season, she’s already making noise in field hockey with multiple goals, and what really makes her stand out is her relentless drive — even battling through injuries to get back to the game she loves. Mackenzie trains hard, supports her teammates, and shines as a leader who lifts everyone around her.

Congratulations to our Week 8 Cat Country 98.1 Athlete of the Week — Phoebe Morgan!
Phoebe is a senior at Smithfield High School (Go Lady Sentinels!) who embodies strength, heart, and determination both on and off the field. After undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma since March, Phoebe had her last treatment on September 3rd and was back playing her first full game just six days later — talk about unstoppable!
Her love for soccer and her team has kept her strong, and she continues to inspire her community. Last month, Phoebe and her teammates held a Purple Out Event to raise money for the Tomorrow Fund Clinic and the 76 Foundation, two organizations that have supported her family through her journey.
Let’s give Phoebe some major love and cheers — she’s a true champion in every sense of the word!

A’mya is a freshman at Bishop Stang High School who’s already making waves in field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse! This season, she’s been a standout on the JV field hockey team…scoring three goals, including a buzzer-beating game winner! AND she just earned her spot on both JV and Varsity!
Her passion, drive, and leadership prove that hard work pays off. Way to go, A’mya — you’re on fire!

Beyond athletics, Maia is a proud member of VAASA (Varsity Athletes Advocating Against Substance Abuse) — using her leadership to make a real difference in her school community.

Known for her powerhouse throw-ins and incredible leadership, Gianna inspires her teammates and sets the tone for success on and off the field. Drake Dumont is our Male Athlete of the Week from Scituate High School! A four-year varsity football captain and three-sport All-Division athlete, Drake dominates in football, wrestling, and baseball. Beyond his own success, he gives back by coaching middle school wrestling — inspiring the next generation of Spartans. With unmatched drive, leadership, and heart, Drake’s future on and off the field is looking unstoppable!

HUGE CONGRATS to our Cat Country 98.1 Female Athlete of the Week — Hayden Robinson!
Hayden is a senior at Seekonk High School and an absolute track star!
She just shattered the school’s 600m record by seven seconds (yes, SEVEN!) and currently ranks 4th in Massachusetts and 8th in all of New England for the 800m.
And she’s not stopping there — Hayden is now only a half-second away from breaking the 800m school record that’s stood since 1988. Talk about making history!

Females: Noelle and Brynne Korenbaum
This powerhouse sister duo from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School is rewriting the playbook. Despite battling the rare genetic condition Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), they’re crushing it on the soccer field! Noelle leads the team with 7 goals in 6 games, while freshman Brynne scored her first varsity goal in game three!
This is the first time they’ve ever played on the same team, and their grit, determination, and teamwork prove there are no limits for these EDS warriors.

Female: Hope Moran
Hope is a senior at East Providence High School and the #2 Singles Tennis Player, but she is also serving up inspiration off the court! Hope helped launch her school’s Active Minds chapter and kickstarted the Kyle Cares/Townie Cares club, a student-led mental health organization making a real difference.

Anthony is a sophomore at Coventry High School who’s absolutely on fire! Scoring 5 goals in just 4 games, including a game-winning free kick with only 5 seconds left on the clock!
He is already sitting 12th in the state standings….as a sophomore!
