Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walks

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Recovery Month promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for mental and substance use disorders, celebrates people in recovery, lauds the contributions of treatment and service providers, and promotes the message that recovery in all its forms is possible. Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover. Learn more at

The Catholic Community of North Attleboro Fall Festival

Friday, September 27th (5-8 PM) and Saturday, September 28th (9A-3P) – celebrate the beginning of autumn at St. Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley Street in Attleboro Falls, MA.

The days will include a wide variety of activities, raffles, and food including hot dogs & hamburgers, chowder & clam cakes, meatball grinders, pastries, and ice cream sundaes. 

Visit the Crafters’ Corner with handmade items, What-Not-Shoppe, Book Room, Baked Goods, “Wine Wheel”, and more. 

The Fall Festival is a traditional “Start of Autumn”ritual. Join in on the fun!

Bark on the Beach

Animal Rescue Rhode Island’s Dog Walk for the Animals is Saturday, October 5th at Narragansett Town Beach.

Dog beach walk, dog contests, prizes, food, music, vendors, and more! Raise money to save animals!

Registration begins at 11 AM, walk begins at 12 PM.

October 6th – Join the Down Syndrome Society of Rhode Island at Goddard Park Carousel to celebrate the annual Buddy Walk and Fall Harvest Festival!

The Buddy Walk was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to Celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness. Here in Rhode Island, the Buddy Walk is an incredible day that raises awareness and funds for programs that benefit local people with Down syndrome and their families.

Come walk with us and meet some great families from around the Ocean State! This is a rain or shine event.

A Wish Come True Charity Golf Tournament

Rhode Island’s A Wish Come True organization is hosting their First Annual Gold Tournament at Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk, MA on October 7th.

A Wish Come True is the oldest wish granting program in the Rhode Island, helping local children with a life-threatening illness to experience something special. They grant 40-50 wishes a year and have sent “Wish Kids” to places like Disney, Caribbean cruises, and sporting events of their choice.
