What is Stars With Guitars?

Stars With Guitars is the evolution of a benefit concert formerly known as the Cat Country Snowball.  This is the 3rd re-set of the event.  The original Snowball began in the Crown Plaza Hotel ballroom in Warwick in 2009.

After quickly outgrowing that space, Snowball moved to Rhodes On the Pawtuxet in Cranston for a solid four year run.  By 2016, the event had once again outgrown its space.  As much as everyone loved the intimacy of the Rhodes, the size limited the number of artists and fans we could invite so other options were explored.

The management of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence had been a fan of our event and invited us to explore holding Snowball at The Dunk.  Teaming with Dunkin’ Donuts, Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Dunkin’ Donuts Center – the event was officially moved to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in 2016 and morphed into a Guitar-Pull called Stars With Guitars.

With a new name, the event was no longer limited to January and February which means weather is no longer the wildcard factor.  “We had one direct hit, and two near misses,” said WCTK Program Director Bob Walker.  We had to cancel and re-schedule in 2015 and two times prior, we were up all night watching … wondering if the parking lots could be plowed in time.”

The goal is to hold Stars With Guitars in March in years to come.
